Rev. Chalmers Grose, a ministerial student at Trinity College, and Miss Gertrude Taylor, who teaches at Black Mountain, spent the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Grose.

Mr. Otto Williamson and family of Charlotte and Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Williamson of Whitmire, S.C., visiting Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Williamson and other relatives here during the Christmas season.

Mr. Robert Dye and family of Alexander spent a few days recently at the home of Mr. Bill Mathney’s.

Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Hughey left Sunday for a motor tour of Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Rev. Charles B. Trammel, who is attending Wake Forst, returned Sunday to resume his studies after spending the Yuletide with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Trammel.

Miss Bill Best of near Clyde was one among the many who visited the Coles during the holidays.

Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Lawing entertained a number of young folks Saturday night.

Mr. Alfred Withrow of Trinity College spent Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Withrow.

Mr. C.F. Murph and family of Moore, S.C., returned home Friday, after spending two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Long Sr.

Mrs. J.P. Hardin and little Billie, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Eli Williams in Cherokee, S.C., for a few days at Christmas.

Miss Ethel Robinson, who teaches in Louisburg, was home during the holidays.

Mr. John Trammel moved his family to Rutherfordton, New Year. This community regrets giving up these good folks. Mr. Trammel will have charge of the Country Club.

Mr. and Mrs. Rush Holland of Charlotte are visiting at Mr. John Weir’s.

Mrs. G.W. Long Jr. and baby, Hoyle Grose, visiting the former’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Geer in Forest city last week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Beam of Rutherfordton were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Marks last Sunday a week ago.

Mr. Phillip Robinson and family have moved to Forest City. Mr. Robinson has a position with the Florence Mill.

Mrs. R.T. Hamrick was called Tuesday to the bedside of her aunt, Mrs. Lullia Shytle, who is very sick at Spindale.

Mr. Horace Doggett of Forest City made a splendid talk at Pleasant Grove Sunday night.
