Work Begun on Roseboro Mill and 20 Cotton Mill Houses, March 18, 1926

Start Working on Roseboro Mill. . . Foundation Being Laid for Plant—Contract let for Employed Residence

“The foundation for the brick work on the new Roseboro cotton mill is under construction, and the contract will be let for the construction of the main building Wednesday, March 23,” said Mr. Troy I. Herring, who is the leading stock holder of the company, while in Clinton Monday afternoon.

Mr. Herring further said in regard to the cotton mill houses, that the contract for 20 houses, most of which will contain five rooms modernly equipped, was let to Messrs. Charlie Pollock and Earnie Crumpler of Clinton Saturday. “The contract for abut 15 more such houses will be let in the near future,” said Mr. Herring.

The cotton mill site is located about one-half mile south of Roseboro, and is on a desirable location, according to Mr. Herring. Mr. Herring further stated in connection with the cotton mill progress that the mill company had purchased the old Roseboro ?? building which is located on West Railroad street for the purpose of the Roseboro Mills, Inc., office.

“The plans are ready for inspection and any persons interested may call at the present office in Roseboro where information will be given freely pertaining to the contract and work,” said Mr. Herring.
