Funeral services for Sadie Marcus Knuckles, colored, aged 32, wife of Prof. W. H. Knuckles, were conducted yesterday afternoon at the Sandy Grove Baptist church by Rev. H. C. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist church of Lumberton, and interment was made in the Sandy Grove Cemetery.
Deceased had been in ill health for some time and death was not unexpected. The church was packed for the funeral with many standing on the outside. The grave was covered with numerous floral designs by those who wished to pay their last tribute to her. Besides her husband, who is a well-known educator, she is survived by four daughters and one son.
