Another legal squabble in Waynesville, N.C. today confronted the Cambridge, Mass., police in their attempt to secure the return of Georye Farley, wanted in Cambridge for the murder of Eugene Crawford, a negro, three weeks ago.
Farley was arraigned in Waynesville a week ago, but was released before police Inspector Marr of Cambridge reached the scene. Governor McLean of North Carolina then signed extradition papers, but the fugitive had disappeared. He was re-arrested, but Inspector Marr, after another trip south, last night telegraphed his superiors here that the Waynesville sheriff refused to part with his prisoner until he receives the $500 reward offered for Farley.
