Alamance County Will Hold Soldier's Celebration May 30, 1919

Soldier Celebration May 30th. . . To Be Held in Burlington, Entire County Taking Part

Last Thursday night a meeting was held in Burlington to arrange to pay honor to the soldiers and sailors who were in service from Alamance County.

Committees were appointed representing all sections of the county, to arrange for and have in charge every feature of the big celebration.

A big dinner will be provided for a thousand soldiers.

Bands of music will enliven the occasion.

War trophies, tanks, floats, Red Cross and Y.M.C.A. units, Confederate veterans, fire departments and 
Boy Scouts will have a prominent part in the parade with the soldiers.

Everything that will contribute to the pleasure of the soldiers and the attractiveness of the occasion will be done.

The negro soldiers and sailors will be on hand with a band.

It’s going to be a big day for Alamance.
