From the Berryman Political Cartoon Collection, Armistice Day 1922

In contrast with the previous year, which had a huge procession ceremony and featured some of the world's most powerful nations, in 1922 President Harding took a simple observance of the day. A small group of individuals including President Harding left the White House early in the morning to lay a wreath symbolizing the nations Armistice Day tribute on the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. This primary source comes from the Records of the U.S. Senate.
