J.M. Sessoms, who operates a store in the outskirts of Lumberton, was recently relieved of $13 by a Gypsie fortune teller. According to Mr. Sessoms’s report to the officers, the woman hypnotized him and led him to his cash drawer. When he “came to himself,” he missed the money and called police headquarters. All of a band of Gypsies were “rounded up” by the officers and the money recovered. The Gypsies were then ordered to move on and they did.
