Grover Lawrence, native of Francisco, Stokes county, died last night at a local hospital, following injuries received in an automobile accident near King, about 10 o’clock Sunday night, and his brother, Wesley Lawrence, is a patient at the hospital suffering with serious injuries.
Grover Lawrence had spent the week-end at his home in Stokes and his brother was driving him to Greensboro where he held a position with the Southern Railway, to resume his duties this morning.
As they rounded a sharp curve near a bridge between Rural Hall and King, the Ford car in which they were riding turned turtle, falling down a steep embankment. Occupants of a passing car discovered the wreck, and upon investigation found Grover Lawrence in an unconscious condition, with the fender of the car resting on his chest. Wesley Lawrence was also in a serious condition. Drs. Helsabeck and Stone, of King, were summoned and they rushed the injured to the hospital here. Grover Lawrence never regained consciousness, death following a short while after reaching this city. It is thought the brother will recover.
Grover Lawrence, the deceased, is married and is survived by his wife. The body will be taken to the former home at Francisco, Stokes county, where the funeral and interment will take place. The details of the funeral will be announced after the arrival of relatives of the deceased late this afternoon.
