If today proves to be as much of a scorcher as yesterday was, and there is every indication that such will be the case, many New Bern people will pay the nearby beaches a visit, many going down for the first time.
Swansboro is proving quite popular with New Bern people this year, especially since the Tarrymore Hotel was put in such excellent condition and such fine service is being given there, while Morehead City and Beaufort are drawing large crowds.
Wilmington and Wrightsville are getting their share of the week-end traffic and it is expected that quite a large crowd will spend today at the latter beach.
