In Judge Finley's Courtroom, Watauga Superior Court, Sept. 13, 1923

Fall Term Watauga Superior Court Adjourned on Saturday. . . Judge T.B. Finley Presides with a Good Deal of Firmness, Yet Sentences Are Not Very Heavy

The fall term of Watauga Superior Court adjourned Saturday. The dockets were some heavier than usual, the state docket taking up practically all the week, the following cases being disposed of:

John Warlick and John Lanier, operating automobile without license; judgment suspended on paymen of cost.

N.E. Trivet, giving worthless check; judgment suspended on payment of cost.

C.O. Williams, violating prohibition law; Fined $25 and costs.

C.O. Williams, operating automobile while intoxicated, 12 mos. sentence suspended.

H.R. DeFunia, violating prohibition law; guilty; $100 and costs.

H.R. DeFuniac, operating auto intoxicated; 12 months suspended sentence. [Last name spelled DeFunia on first mention and DeFuniac on second.]

Cloy Watson, failure to work the roads, judgment suspended on payment of costs.

Leonard Green, false pretense, judgement suspended on payment of cost.

William Tumlin and Chester Collett, (col) liquor. Cottell not guilty; Tumblin 12 months on chain gang.

Hub Wagner, operating auto intoxicated. Guilty. Prayer for judgment continued on payment of cost.

R.L. Glenn, giving worthless check. Six months suspended sentence.

Roby Warren, violating prohibition law, guilty; four months on the chain gang and 12 month ssuspended sentence.

Dewey Shook, assault with deadly weapon, 60 days suspended sentence and $100 fine.

H.E. Coffey, violating prohibition law, guilty, prayer for judgment suspended on payment of cost.

Harry Williamson, Willie Williams, Carl Walker (col) larceny. Guilty. Williams 16 months in state prison and Walker 16 months on chain gang.

Robt. Greer and Billy Mack, violating prohibition law, not guilty as to Greer; guilty as to Mack, $100 fine and cost.

Baxter Kendall, violating prohibition law, guilty 5 months on chain gang and 12 months suspended sentence.

Dorris Ford, violating prohibition laws, guilty. Prayer for judgment is continued on payment of costs.

Tracy Culler and Docia Miller, f. and a. Guilty. Culler six months on chain gang; Docia Miller six months suspended sentence.

Z.A. Norris, violating prohibition law, 6 months suspended sentence; $100 fine.

Coy Rogers, violating prohibition law, guilty; prayer for judgment continued; driving auto while intoxicated, prayer for judgement continued. Payment of costs in both cases.

Claude Smith, disposing of mortgaged property, 6 months suspended sentence. House breaking, 6 month son chain gang. Violating prohibition law, guilty, discharged on payment of costs.

Jim Brown, assault with deadly weapon, 12 months suspended sentence; a.d.w., $50 and costs; Cruetly to animals, judgment suspended on payment of costs.

Com Church, violation of prohibition law, 6 months suspended sentence and $50 fine.
