2- and 6-Year Old Children Die of Pneumonia, Dec. 3, 1923

Little Anna Boone Siler

The Lord plucked a little rosebud Sunday afternoon when little Anna Boone Siler, the 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Siler was called to join the host of children in Heaven. The cause of death was pneumonia.

Funeral services were conducted by Pastor J.T. Mangum of the Methodist church at the Baptist church this afternoon at 3:30. Mrs. L.M. Richeson of Hazelwood sang a beautiful solo “Asleep in Jesus.” There were many floral offerings and a large crowd of friends and relatives in attendance.

Little Joe Duckett

Little Joe, the popular son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed T. Duckett, died of pneumonia Friday night about 12 o’clock, aged 6 years and 10 months.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.T. Mangum, pastor of the M.E. Church, South, Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the Baptist church, which was well filled with relatives and friends. It was a very impressive and an appropriate service. Little Joe was well liked at school and wherever he was known.
