Charlotte, Aug. 30—Floyd H. Bennett was found guilty in the Superior Court here of kidnapping Loretta Lawing, 16 years old, and also of a statutory charge in connection with his escapade with the girl. Sentence will be passed today. Bennett and the girl disappeared from Charlotte. Four days later, she was found deserted in a boarding house. She alleged that he had agreed to marry her, and they went to several North Carolina cities. The jury recommended the maximum punishment, which is 20 years and kidnapping 5 years, but there is no minimum.
