Diss Trial Gets Underway Rapidly. . . Jury Brought in from Another County but Trial Is Taking Place in Court House at Richmond, Va.

Richmond, Va., Aug. 15 (AP)—The actual trial of Rudolph Disse, 20-year-old triple slayer, got underway in Hustings court today, with the opening statement of the counsel. The jury was completed yesterday after three day’s effort.

Twelve citizens of Fredericksburg will hear the case under a change of venire granted by Judge Frederick W. Coleman, who held that an unprejudiced jury would be difficult to obtain here.

Disse today faced a first degree murder charge for the slaying of Henry Grady Carter, restaurant owner, and his rival for the affections of Mrs. Vivian Tomkin Peers, 18-year-old clothing model. Carter was shot twice and almost instantly killed as he stood behind the counter of his restaurant about a mile from where the girl and Burke were fatally wounded, and Willis Britt, automobile salesman, was shot less than 10 minutes later.

Defense counsel have indicted they will plead that Disse was irresponsible for his actions on the day of the shooting.
