A man who was held in high esteem by his fellow citizens was lost to Pasquotank County in the death of Benoni Cartwright of this County. He was 80 years old and is survived by eight children, 40 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. L. Coppersmith of Moyock and Mrs. Joe Markham, Bright, Lem, Jesse, Jerry M. and Benoni Cartwrigt, all of this county There are three nieces and two nephews, Mrs. Miles Sanders, Mrs. Victoria Davis, Mrs. Thomas Harris, and George and John A. Cartwright of this county.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.T. Phipps at Union church, and interment was made in the family burying ground Friday afternoon.
