Miss Eloise McArthur Elected "Miss Clinton," March 18, 1926

Miss Clinton Designated. . . Miss Eloise McArthur Chosen to Represent Town in Eastern Carolina Show

A distinguished honor has been bestowed upon a Clinton lady in the person of Miss Eloise McArthur who has been selected by a local committee appointed by the Eastern Carolina Chamber of Commerce to represent Clinton at the exposition which will be held n Greenville, N.C., April 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Miss McArthur was selected from the many beautiful girls for which Clinton is noted and is a member of this year’s senior class of the high school. She is a popular young lady with her classmates as well as Clinton in general.

The Chamber of Commerce expressed themselves as being highly pleased and the selection was made by this secret committee Monday night when the question was discussed.

Every member of the chamber stated that they were delighted in the fact that Miss McArthur had accepted the honor conferred upon her and that they were confident that she would make a wonderful showing in Greenville as “Miss Clinton” during the four days of the exposition and before the 50,000 persons who are expected to attend the exposition during these days.

It is understood that the town will co-operate with Miss McArthur in every way possible in order that her trip there will be really entertaining and pleasing.
