A meeting of parties interested in base ball was held in Salisbury Tuesday at which an organization known as the Old Hickory Base Ball Association was completed. In this association will (be) the towns of Mount Airy, Lexington, Thomasville and Salisbury. The plan as adopted provides that the series of games will begin next Wednesday. The Mount Airy team will play two games Wednesday and Thursday of next week in Salisbury, and return to this place and play Lexington Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18th. Each team in the circuit will play four games a week, two of which will be in the home towns of the teams. With the completion of this organization, Mount Airy fans are assured a series of good games for the entire season. E.C. Bivens and J.F. Yokley represented Mount Airy in the meeting in Salisbury Tuesday.
