Abraham Kennedy, colored, charged with having broken through a window in Albert Carman’s store and stolen two pair of shoes, was tried in mayor’s court this morning. He was bound over to the recorder’s court under a bond of $50, which he was unable to pay. He is now being held in jail, awaiting trial.
Only one other case was tried in court his morning, it being that of Miley Curnan, colored, charged with disorderly conduct. He is said to have become vexed with his wife and to have slapper dher rather vigorously across the face. She resented this treatment on his part and had him arrested. He had pay $10 and costs for his little pleasantry.
