Dr. John M. Walker Asks Livingstone College Alumni to Send Pledges Now, Nov. 10, 1921

Appeal to Livingstone College Alumni

An appeal to Livingstone College Alumni for sanitary equipment of the boys’ building and Hood Seminary was made during the annual meeting of the Alumni Association, and it was agreed upon to request an annual donation from each alumnus to aid in the pressing needs of the school.

At the opening in October the alumni discovered that Dodge Hall, the boys’ dormitory and Hood Seminary were without toilets and baths. Since the furnace has been installed in Dodge Hall and the stoves on which water could be heated have been removed, it is absolutely necessary for the comfort and health and life of each boy that these be put in immediately. Furthermore, the sanitary laws of the city prohibit the use of surface toilets. We are now calling upon the members to forward the $5 at once as the urgency of the case requires that this work go forward immediately.
