Boys Found Guilty of Forging Checks Sentenced to School, July 25, 1923

Boys Sentenced to Full Term at School

An inactive sentence with a self-starter was passed by Judge Stack in the superior at Albemarle several days ago who plead guilty to forging checks. The unique sentence by Judge Stack was two yeas on the chain gang but required to appear 12 months from now and show they had attended a full session of school, the parents of each of the boys were required to place with the clerk of court $100 for one an $200 for the other to be forfeited if the parents fail to send them to school and suspended road sentence to take effect if the boys fail to go to school.
