Fire destroyed a barn and automobile shed of Mr. John Adams of Herring Terrace early this morning. The fire was discovered shortly after 1 o’clock by Mrs. Merrill Holderby, a neighbor who aroused her husband and had the alarm sounded. When the fire was first discovered the barn was completely in flames, and was nearly burned to the ground by the time the trucks arrived on the scene.
Mr. Adams sustained considerable loss in the fire which destroyed his barn, a Ford automobile, a mule and a considerable amount of feed. The loss was set at approximately $1,000. No insurance was carried on the building or its contents.
The origin of the fire is uncertain.
