Here is the new home of The Bank of a Manteo, an institution that has done much toward teaching thrift to the fishermen of the isolated villages of Dare County. The Bank of Manteo has made an unsual success among a people that had no banking facilities of their own before 1907, when this bank was organized, and knew little of banking or how to value the services of one, is said to be the handsomest business structure in the county. It is equipped with a modern vault and safety deposit boxes. The officers are R.C. Evans, President; L.N. Midgett, Vice-President; and R. Bruce Etheridge, Cashier. Snapshot photo by Victor Meekins.
