John Kilpatrick, colored, North Wilkesboro, who has been a driver of the Blair ice wagon hereabout, was killed in Ohio last Friday, a telegram received her that day said. No further particulars were then known other than that John had gone form this community only the Monday prior, or rather from Roaring River, where he boarded the train having given bond here for getting drunk.
Some ice tickets in his pockets lead to his identity.
