Rutherfordton, July 20—Rutherford county recently shipped out its fifth car of poultry for the year, about 6,000 pounds being loaded at that time. County Agent F.E. Patton reported that this brought the total up to 54,000 pounds for this season and that the entire amount sold at approximately three cents per pound more than was being offered by the local market. This saving of $1,620 to the farmers is equal to the amount paid each year by the county for the services of its farm demonstration agent, stated Mr. Patton.
