Carthage, N.C., Aug. 4—Moore county officers, aided by a posse of deputized citizens and a pack of bloodhounds, last night continued their search for John McMillan, negro, who is alleged to have made an attack on a 45-year-old white woman, the mother of eight children, who resides at Eagle Springs, 12 miles west of this city.
The alleged attack occurred this morning about 10 o’clock near the woman’s home. She had gone to a spring, about 150 yards from the house, to get a pail of water. From the description given of the negro, officers state that they are positive that the man wanted is McMillan.
