Among the marriages that took place in Pasquotank during the past week was the marriage of Miss Evelyn Clair Sykes, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.D. Sykes, to Mr. Charles Cartwright, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Cartwright of this city, Rev. H.K. Vye of Providence, Rhode Island, officiating in the Woman’s Club home on church street. The couple will make their [home] in Raleigh.
Rev. E.F. Sawyer was busy tying knots this week, uniting in marriage Miss Alice Rebecca Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jones of Camden, to Mr. Rodney E. Jackson, son of Mrs. Lucy Jackson of Norfolk.
Miss Clarice Virginia Gaither, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William James Gaither of Appomattox, Va., to Dr. Mott Beasley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alcester Beasley of Richmond.
Miss Bettie H. Barnard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Barnard of Camden to Mr. Jodie B. Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Bell, city route one.
