All Concord Citizens to Get Modern Sewer System, July 21, 1926

A Modern Sewer System

Concord citizens are spending $60,000 now for a sewer system that will cover the entire city. Bonds to this amount were sold recently so the work could be carried on and it is gratifying to know that fine progress is being made.

It is also gratifying to know that the sewer system is to be extended to those sections of the city that are inhabited for the most part by negroes. They are entitled to sanitary conditions as good as those in any other part of Concord. They are taxpayers and therefore should feel free in asking for those benefits that are given to other citizens.

When work underway and planned is competed there will be but one house in Wards One and Five that are not served by the system. Other sections of the city are already well served and where this is not the case, the system is being extended, so no one will find it impossible to have the most modern and sanitary conditions at his home.
