Alumni Notes
Itimous Valentine, ’16, who has seen about six months’
service in France and who was a member of the 113th Division, has
just returned from overseas. He was discharged from service at Camp Jackson a
few days ago and paid friends at the college a visit on his way home.
Henry Beeson, ’16, was at the college this week-end, having
received his discharge from Camp Hancock on the 28th.
Richard J.M. Hobbs, ’09, arrived at home the 30th.
He is one of the number of Guilfordians who has done splendid service in France
in reconstruction work both before and since the cease of the war.
J.P. Garner, ’16, is doing clerical work in Asheboro. He was
among the first Guilfordians to volunteer for army service, but was retained in
camp on this side throughout the war period, having recently returned from Fort
Riley, Texas. He expects to resume his studies in electrical engineering soon.
