Mrs. Beall, Mrs. Chapman Win Silver Foils' Four Best Ball Tournament, April, 1919

Mrs. Beall and Mrs. Chapman Win the Silver Foils’ Four Best Ball Tournament

A small but determined field took part in the Silver Foils’ four ball best ball contest on Tuesday on the Number One course, the prizes going to Mrs. H.C. Beall and Mrs. J.D. Chapman, who led with 98-10, 88. Mrs. J.R. Pirce and Mrs. M.J. Scammel had an 88 but also had a plus 1 handicap, which gave them the second honors at 89 net. Mrs. Barlow and Mrs. Hurd played the best round of the day, as was to be expected, and came in with a gross 84. A plus handicap of 11 strokes had been provided for the occasion but even with that they finished with only four pairs ahead of them.

Miss Louise Patterson and Miss Kate Rowman, 52-53, 105-8, 97.

Mrs. H.G. Waring and Miss Carolyn Bogart—60-61, 124-24, 100.
