Farm Notes

Sheep shearing, docking, castrating, ringing, and dehorning demonstrations will be conducted next week, at the following farms:

Monday, April 21, 10 o’clock, H.A. Shute’s farm north of town.

Monday, April 21, 3 o’clock, F.M. Sutton’s farm.

Tuesday, April 22, 10 o’clock, M.L. Baker’s farm, Lanes Creek.

Wednesday, April 23, 10 o’clock, T.D. Green’s farm, Buford township.

Wednesday, April 23, 1 o’clock, W.D. Biven’s farm, Monroe township.

Instructions will be given in the breeding and care of sheep, in the care and marketing of wool, ringing the nose of bulls, and the dehorning of animals.

Demonstrations will also be given in how to prepare beef cattle for the show ring and for market.

Two sheep will be clipped at each farm, lambs docked, and where desired, will be castrated. Rings will be put into the noses of bulls where desired. Parties to furnish the rings. Demonstrations will also be given in dehorning.

It will take about three hours to complete the demonstrations at each point. All farmers interested in any of the above topics are requested to be present. Two experts will be with the county agent.
