G.L. Johnson, Who Died in West Virginia Mine, Brought Home for Burial, Feb. 17, 1922

G.L. Johnson of Badin Succumbs to Injuries

Badin, Feb. 15—The remains of Mr. G.L. Johnson, who died in Helen, W. Va., from injuries sustained in the coal mine where he was working, arrived in Badin this week. After a night in Badin the body was taken to Antioch Church in South Carolina, near Grover, N.C., where interment was made.

Mr. Johnson was 53 years of age. He was a devoted member of the Baptist Church of Badin, a good man to his family, and to every one he came in contact with. The immense assembly of friends showed the esteem in which he was held.

Surviving Mr. Johnson is his wife, Mrs. G.L. Johnson, and a son, Thaddeus, two daughters, Maude and Grace. He also leaves a very aged father and mother, three sisters and three brothers. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. O.P. Johnson, relative of the deceased.
