Jesse Armfield, Bank President, Brought Back From Mexico to Face Charges of Embezzlement, Feb. 17, 1922

Jesse L. Armfield Now in Jail at Lexington

Lexington, Feb. 15—Failing to provide bond in the sum of $175,000, Jesse L. Armfield, former president of the Bank of Thomasville, which failed August 22, brought back here today from Mexico City by Chief of Police George B. Wimberly of Thomasville to face charges of embezzlement, abstraction, and misapplication of the funds of the bank, went to jail at 5:30 this afternoon after spending the afternoon in an attorney’s office in custody of Sheriff Ford C. Sink.
