In Wilson Mayor's Court, Civil Court, Feb. 13, 1922

Mayor’s Court

Cases before Mayor Killette this morning were:

Paul Beamon, carrying concealed weapon, a pistol, $54.25.

Paul Beaman, carrying concealed weapon, knucks, judgement suspended on payment of costs.

Mack Pender, disorderly conduct, $5.25.

Richard Barnes, assault on Mack Pender with a knife, $29.25. Officer Beland stated that Saturday afternoon he observed Barnes and Mack Pender rolling over the sidewalk at the corner of Barnes and Tarboro streets. He thought they were playing. However, when Barnes arose Pender declared Barnes had cut him.

Peter Harrison, disorderly conduct, $9.25.

Thad Coley, running a punch board, $26.25. {gambling device]

Charlie Walker, disorderly conduct, $29.25.

Wiley Batts, disorderly conduct, $29.25.

Bennie Wasson, running automobile while drunk, $54.25.

Paul Barnes, carrying concealed weapon, $54.25.

G.E. Bishop, giving worthless check for $20, taxed $54.25 and ordered to pay the check.

Will Manning, handling wood alcohol, $54.25.

Walter Wood, larceny of a pair of pants, six months on the roads.

Cora Williams, vagrancy, 30 days in jail.

Cora Williams, violating prostitution act, five months in jail.

George Batts, violating prostitution act, three months on roads, appealed and went to jail in default of $150 bond.

George Batts, vagrancy, 30 days, appealed and failed to give $150 bond.

George Batts, receiving whiskey, six months on roads, appealed and failed to give $150 bond.

Civil Term of Court

The civil term of the Wilson county Superior Court opened this morning with Judge Horton presiding. The following cases were disposed of today:

Ada Bridges was granted a divorce from her husband, Tom Bridges.

Arthur Taylor was given a divorce from his wife, Goldie Taylor.

Messrs. Dildy and Agney were given a judgment of $341.71 with interest against Messrs. C.L. Coon and C.C. Rackley, balance which the plaintiffs claimed with due for the building of his home. Mr. Coon claimed that he had a contract with Mr. C.C. Rackley to build his residence, and Mr. Rackley stated that the contract was on a 10 per cent basis. It was alleged by plaintiffs that materials for the construction of the house were purchased from them and charged to Messrs. Coon and Rackley.

Mr. A.T. Winstead was given a judgment against Mr. J. Caney Brown for $300 on the ground that his eye was injured when a Chero Cola bottle burst and a piece of the glass struck him. At that time Mr. Brown was proprietor of the Wilson Chero Cola plant.
