Work of remodeling the burned interior of Garibaldi and Bruns jewelry store on South Tryon Street, recently damaged by fire, has bene authorized by the granting of a permit from the City Building Inspector.
J.P. Propst has charge of the renovation of the jewelry store, which will cost $10,000. He also has charge of the work in the interior of the Southern Loan and Trust Company. This will cost $1,500.
Blythe and Isenhour are doing the remodeling in the Brown Betty building. This project will cost between $1,500 and $2,000.
A fire wall is to be constructed from the third floor, between the Garibaldi and Bruns building and the Southern Loan and Trust Company’s building. This was ordered by R.P. Connelly, City Building Inspector, in the cause of fire prevention. A parapet fire wall will also be raised between the jewelry store and the Brown Betty building.
