BUXTON WHITE
La-a-a-dees and gen-tle-men! We present for your approval Buxton White, agriculturist, seedsman, world war veteran and now Managing Secretary of the Albemarle Agricultural Association. In looking about for a man of executive ability and one interested in the highest possible agricultural development of Northeastern North Carolina, to manage the Elizabeth City Fair this Fall, the Fair Association hit upon Buxton White. Mr. White is a graduate of the North Carolina State College and was for three years connected with the State Agricultural Experiment Station. He volunteered for oversees service in the world war and went to the front with he anti-aircraft machine gun division, serving until the end of the war and winning a First Lieutenant’s commission. Back from the war he returned to Raleigh to a position on the executive staff of the State College, but gave it up to establish himself in business in Elizabeth City. He established what is now the Buxton White Seed Co. in Feb. 1920, and has made an enviable success of it. He is a son of Dr. and Mrs. J.H. White of this city. Photo by Zoeller.
