Samuel L. Dosher Dies at His Southport Home. . . Mayor of Southport Was Many Years a Resident of This Section

Samuel T. Dosher of Southport died suddenly at his home there this week. He was a native of Southport, but for several years was a resident of this section, practicing law at Manteo for about five years, prior to removing to Southport. At one time he was Mayor of Manteo. A brother-in-law, C.B. Gaskins, lives in this city.

Before going to Manteo, he was an observer connected with the U.S. Weather Bureau and was stationed at Hatteras for several years. While there he married Miss Cora Gaskins, who survives him. They adopted a son, Hugh, who is the only child. Mr. Dosher was a Mason, having been a member of Wanchese Lodge A.F. & A.M. for several years. He was about 56 years old.

Samuel Dosher was one of the biggest hearted, most conscientious and humane men in the world. As a friend, he was loyal, liberal and patient. Hs charity extended to all he knew and all who knew him loved him.
