Grand Jury Finds No Bill in Case Against Maurice Sullivan, June 18, 1922

No True Bill Found in Sullivan Case

The Mecklenburg grand jury returned a “no bill” in the case of the State against Maurice G. Sullivan, former soldier of the Rainbow Division and the fighting 67th (Alabama) Infantry, who was charged with manslaughter for causing the death of John Moter, an aged Syrian, some months ago. Mr. Sullivan, although he admitted the car was his, insisted that he was not in the car at the time but that it had been taken out of the garage unknown to him.
