His Honor Recorder H.H. Philips had two interesting cases before his court Monday morning.
Will Smith was tried for driving a car while under the influence of liquor. This case was turned over to the recorder by the mayor the same day. The recorder found that smith was guilty and sentenced him to the county roads for four months. Smith appealed to the Superior Court.
The other case was against Dr. A.L. Morrison, an itinerant man of medicine, who was practicing the profession without a license. Dr. Morrison has been in this county for some time, but was caught up with, and after paying a fine of $50 and costs, promised not to do so again He came here from one of the eastern counties. He left Tarboro for down east yesterday.
