The annual North Carolina state checker tourney will be held this year in Maxton, N.C. on July 4th. Maxton is the home of H.C. MacNair, the present state champion, and all the players will be glad of the opportunity to hold this tourney in Mr. MacNair’s home town. Fine roads lead to Maxton from every section of the state, and a record-breaking attendance is expected at this tourney.
