Kinston, Feb. 3—The police today were without additional clues to the identity of the “masked stranger” who since January 20 has terrorized the home of George Inscore in North Kinston. Inscore, nervous as a result of the visitations of the “stranger,” last Monday night fired five shots at a policeman who was watching the house. The unknown since then has left at least one note at the residence. Most of the missives have been warnings. The man has not been seen by members of the family recently, however. The authorities today professed to be “completely at sea.” If the visitations “keep up,” however, “interesting developments may ensue,” it was said.
