Elizabeth Mallard, the 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Mallard, who live on Vance Street, caught fire Sunday afternoon and was right badly burned. The child had poured some perfume on her dress and was attempting to dry her clothes by striking matches. Her dress caught on fire and before it could be extinguished her clothes were partly burned. She was in a room by herself. A doctor was called immediately and the burns dressed. She is resting very nicely now.
