Mrs. S.C. Roberts, who lives a few miles west of here, has a big Plymouth Rock rooster that insists on helping the hens with settling. Mr. Roberts, who was here yesterday, says that the rooster gets on the nest, pushes the hens off and proceeds to make himself content sitting on the eggs. He has caused considerable trouble among the fowls, Mr. Roberts says, by insisting on this part of the family duties. Mrs. Roberts is planning to stake him out, Mr. Roberts said, in order to keep him from bothering the hens.
