Bruce Stroud took the force of the Stroud Motor Co. and about 75 guests to a barbecue on the banks of the Haw River near Bynum Wednesday. The garage baseball team with Harold Cheek pitching, and George Sparrow, Carolina football star, catching, played Bynum to a tie, 7 to 7.
Mr. Stroud himself did not enter the game, but gave coaching advice from the sidelines.
