Special term of civil court which ended Friday, with Judge Oliver H. Allen presiding, cleared the docket of very few dases, and all of the civil suits which were settled involved but small sums of money.
Half a dozen divorces were granted, and the monotony of the sessions were relieved Tuesday afternoon with the Parker-Barrett habeas corpus proceedings for the custody of 5-year-old Frank Sneed, colored son of Lillie Parker, which resulted in a near riot.
All told, less than a score of cases were disposed of during the one week of special court.
