Local Happenings

Prof. George L. Smith of Glenwood was a business visitor in town Monday. Mr. Smith was formerly principal of the Spindale High School, and his many friends were glad to see him again. He will be in charge of the Glenwood high school this year.

Messrs. Victor Grose, E.C. Simmons and L.J. Thomason spent Saturday afternoon at Tuxedo fishing.

Miss Bertha Giles spent last week in Inman and Spartanburg, S.C., visiting friends and relatives.

Mr. Robert Giles and family spent Sunday afternoon visiting their son, Mr. Jim Giles and family, of near Cool Springs, S.C.

Mrs. J.T. Hardin spent part of last week with her son, Mr. Worth Hardin, near Melvin Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Hardin of Forest City spent one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Culbreth.

Miss Ella Culbreth spent last week near Shiloh visiting friends.

Mr. Charlie McCurry and family spent part of last week near Golden Valley.
