Adeline Hooper, Well Known and Respected, Has Died, July 12, 1926

Adeline Hooper, Colored. . . Funeral of Well-Known and Respected Colored Woman Attended by Large Crowd Yesterday

The funeral of “Aunt” Adeline Hooper, about 72 years old, who died at her home in the western part of town, on the Fairmont road across the Seaboard railroad, Thursday night, was attended by a large crowd yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Presbyterian church near Redstone Academy. Services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Hayswood, colored. “Aunt” Adeline was well known and highly respected, widow of the late William Hooper. She is survived by 8 or 10 children, some of them living in Baltimore and Philadelphia, and all attended the funeral.
