Robert McKee, son of Mrs. Mattie McKee, died at the home of his mother last Tuesday evening about 10 o’clock, and was buried at the Webster Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. The funeral was conducted at the Methodist church of that place, by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Cook, assisted by Rev. Mr. Robbins, pastor of the Sylva Methodist church.
Robert or “Bob”, as he was better known, had been making his home in Charlotte for a number of years, but when it became known that he was in a serious condition he was taken to Webster, about four weeks ago, where he steadily grew weaker until the end came last Tuesday.
Bob was a World War veteran, having enlisted at the very beginning of the war, with the Radio company, and he saw active service in Rance and was once badly injured in a motorcycle accident.
He is survived by his wife and two small children, his mother, Mrs. Mattie McKee of Webster, four brothers, James McKee of Chicago, Hery, Fred and Mantalhall, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank West of New Mexico and Miss Katie and little Miss Matilda of Webster.
