Jack Carter Jr., 4, Died When He Fell from Porch, July 12, 1926

Funeral of Jack Carter Jr. Attended by Large Crowd. . . Funeral Services at House and Interment in Maxton Cemetery Friday Morning

Federal services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carter of Maxton Friday morning at 11 o’clock for their 4-year-old son, Jack Jr., who was instantly killed when he fell from a porch at his parents’ home Thursday. The services were in charge of Dr. E. L. Siler, pastor of the Presbyterian church, Maxton. Interment was made in the Maxton cemetery.

A large number of people from all parts of Robeson and surrounding counties were in attendance at the services. Mrs. Carter, mother of the child, was before marriage Miss Marie Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thompson of this place, and a number of automobiles carried Lumberton people to the funeral Friday.
