Charlotte, July 12—Hard words for bootleggers and drunken drivers fell from the lips of Judge Michael Schenck when he addressed the grand jury at the opening of a two-week term of criminal Superior Court here Monday evening. “You gentlemen may return true bills against men charged with driving while drunk with the full assurance that if they are convicted they will not drive another automobile for 12 months,” the judge said.
Speaking of prohibition law enforcement he said: “This court believes that the prohibition law can be enforced and throws down a challenge to those who believe it cannot.
