Mr. W.H. Lynch, aged 65 years, a resident of Courtney, died at Dr. Long’s Sanatorium at Statesville Saturday night. He had been in feeble health for some time and was carried to the hospital last week for treatment for a complication of diseases.
Mr. Lynch had been a resident of Yadkin County all his life and was a son of the late Ira Lynch, who was one of the pioneer citizens of Yakin County. He had been living near Courtney for the past several years.
He is survived by his widow, who was a Miss Howell before her marriage, and 10 children. The children are Mrs. O.R. Hoots, E.H. and L.C. Lynch of Winston-Salem; H.W. Lynch of Indiana; Dallas H. Lynch of High Point; R.H. Lynch of East Bend; J.R. and W.J. Lynch of Courtney, and Misses Mamie and Mattie Lynch of Courtney.
The funeral was held at Forbush Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock and was conducted by Rev. V.M. Swaim of Winston-Salem and Rev. E.W. Turner of Hamptonville. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lynch was a member of the Yadkinville Masonic Lodge and was buried with Masonic honors. A large crowd attended the funeral and burial.
