Lester McGee Wounded Severely, Charlie McAule Missing in Action, 1918

“Casualty List for Sept. 19,” in the Daily Times, Wilson, N.C., September 20, 1918

Washington, Sept. 19—The casualty list for today contains 263 names killed, wounded, missing in action, wounded severely, died of wounds, aeroplane accident, disease and made prisoners. The total names in the Marine casualty list to date are 3,132.

Included in the list are the following North Carolinians:
Lester F. McGee of Route 1, Angier, N.C., who was wounded severely.
Charlie C. McAule of Tryon, N.C., who is missing in action.
